Busted! Bust exposure on beach OK, but not making it a "Kodak moment."
NEWS.com.au | Phone snapper's illicit topless shots (December 2, 2004):
"The former Wagga Wagga resident thought it would be funny to photograph all the different exposed breasts to show his mates."
Peter James MacKenzie, 25, was probably right when he thought his mates at the construction site where he works would like to see what they missed by not going down to the beach with him. But he should have anticipated trouble with jealous boyfriends on the beach, one of whom tackled him and turned him over to the cops.
Now, and this is just my opinion, if I were that concerned about other blokes ogling my lady's bosom, I'd make her keep her top on in a public place. But I'm sort of old-fashioned that way. On a more serious note, though, consider the oddity of a world rapidly filling up with government and private video surveillance of public, and some not-so-public, places placing restrictions on private, non-commercial photography in public spaces. If a government can ban photographing sunbathers on the beach, can it also ban potentially embarrassing videos and photos of official misconduct? Something to think about ... unless you have Mr. MacKenzie's photos.
