WorldNetDaily: more on Kerry's non-honorable discharge from Col, Lively

WorldNetDaily: Kerry's non-honorable discharge:
"The anti-war detractor of our military did not re-up for another six-year term in 1972 ..."

Here, Col. Earl Lively, writing a commentary for World Net Daily, goes off the deep end. Quite the contrary to what he says here, Kerry's file of naval records includes a form letter from 1 March 1972 saying his current period of ready reserve service would soon expire and informing him that his status would automatically change to inactive standby reserve unless he acted promptly to maintain ready reserve status and that the change would take place on 1 April or 1 October next. That same folder has a letter dated 14 August 1972 which changes the date of his status change to inactive standby reserve to 1 July rather than 1 April. So, clearly, Kerry was still in the naval reserve, although Col. Lively may be right in saying it was not another six-year term. As far as why Kerry would want to be associated with the US Navy, he was running for Congress that year and probably thought it looked good on the resume.
