West Nile marches on, some of its victims stumble

Although this article - L.A. Daily News - News - doesn't make the connection, it sets me to wondering again whether this virus was engineered and introduced into the US and Israel for military purposes. I'm willing to be persuaded one way or the other, but this already suspicious outbreak smells even fishier now that we are told this strain, only recently emergent in both the US and Israel, is more virulent than the native African form of the disease.
