2005 White House Staff List -- By Salary(washingtonpost.com):
"Peace, Cheryl D Director, Physical IP Policy 131,671"
I'm offering a reward (likely value less than $10) to the first person who can tell me what "Physical IP Policy" is, let alone why its director should occupy the third highest pay rate on the White House staff, two notches ahead of all the special assistants and associate counsels. I intend by this no disrespect to the incumbent in this high office, I assume she is well-qualified and hard-working. I just want to know what it is we are paying her to do.
Washington Post columnist Dan Froomkin has thoughtfully provided the entire list which can be viewed in salary or alpha order and even compared to prior years. It's a great public service to let us mere taxpayers see how our money gets spread around.

"Physical Internal Prostitute Policy Director" -- a holdover from JFK days with a significant increase of duties and workload from the "Slick Willie" era.
hth,
Assuming you are correct, I fail to understand why this position has not been eliminated in the current Administration.
A friend, who worked in the White House during both Clinton and Bush 43 commented that it was great that the place "was being run by adults again" starting in early 2001.
When has any bureaucratic position been eliminated by this administration? Once established, it is anathama for any BIG govrnment supporter to eliminate any position. Oh, they may change the title and call it an elimination.
It does not matter whether they be Democrat, Republican, or worst of all a RHINO.
In a NIAC document she was designated as
Ms. Cheryl Peace, Director of Cyberspace Security for the Office of the Special Assistant to the
President for Critical Infrastructure Protection and the Homeland Security Council,
so it seems the abb. means
Physical Infrastructure Protection Policy Director.
